about this site

My name is Chandelle. I've been a student at Clayton College of Natural Health for over a year. My current program is in holistic nutrition; my projected graduation date is June of 2009. I'm also studying to be an herbalist. My long-term goal is to work as a naturopathic doctor.

I've been intensely involved in nutritional and herbal studies for going on four years. I was a student homebirth midwife for three years before deciding to expand my professional goals in the field of holistic health. I still have a soft spot in my heart for women's health and I hope to be able to focus on these issues for much of my professional life.

The first purpose of this site is to share what I am learning through my studies of nutrition, herbs and other aspects of holistic health. Once a week, I will profile a different herb that I am studying, along with any recipes I'm currently using. I will also discuss various supportive practices as I experiment with them myself. Finally, I'm bound to pontificate endlessly regarding my evolving philosophy of health and my personal experiences with various practices and ideas; feel free to skip this babble if you are just visiting for practical advice!

The second purpose of this site is to apply my education to real people. On the sidebar you will see a link labeled "Ask a Question," which will explain this process.

The third purpose of this site is to practice various methods of creating herbal remedies and to distribute these remedies for a small fee. I do have to charge for the materials and packaging that I use, but there will be very little overhead cost, so hopefully these products will be cheaper than you'll find elsewhere. This section of the site will be small as I develop my skills. I will always strive to provide the safest, most effective and affordable remedies.

Feedback is not only welcome - it is necessary!
